Staying Out Alone

Every dog is different on what age is best  to let them start staying out alone in our homes.  A good rule of thumb in never before 9 months of age, and longer if in doubt.  Usually it's best to let them out, get into your car start it up and drive up the block.  Walk back home, and see what your dog is doing.  If  they are good, Walk in and after 2 or 3 minutes tell them they are the best dogs ever !  For problem dogs talk to your obedience trainer for recommendations or E-mail me for advice that has worked for me.   It's best not to get super excited when you first walk in.  If you dog is having a problem, keep using the crate.  Hang in there and your dog will quickly learn that if they behave they will have run of there domain.
