Shipping AmStaff's On Airlines
Airlines offer services to ship dogs most of the year. If the outside temperature is above 85 degree's or below 20 degree's the airlines will not ship, nor should they for the safety of the animal. Airlines all charge different rates, so check with a few different companies. Usually prices are around 200-300 dollars (U.S. funds) to ship puppies. Adults go by weight so you have to check with the airlines cargo for a price check.
Before shipping the dogs must have a health certificate within 10 days of the flight ( both ways if you are just traveling with your dogs, so don't get caught without your current slip if you are on a trip home), a letter of acclimation for temperatures considered appropriate your veterinarian, and the outside temperature to fall within that stated range. If you are traveling internationally check with your country embassy to check for local ordnances and regulations.
never attempt to sedate a dog or puppy during travel. This can be very dangerous because of risk of hypothermia. Also make sure to buy a top quality crate , this is not a place to save a dollar or two.
Some airlines do not ship pit bulls, some do not ship pit bulls, but will ship AmStaffs. Some of the airlines with breed restrictions will allow puppies under a certain age. These rules seems to constantly change. Make sure to check with several airlines because their price and policies will differ between the companies.
good luck and happy flying !!
